Servers On Your Wi-Fi:
If you want to play with someone on the same world, your troubles are over. Just follow these simple steps:
1: go to the Start button and search for command prompt
2: type ipconfig and press enter
3: look for the row that says Default Gateway and read the numbers, for instance 192.168.1.7:
4: tell your friend to open up Minecraft (everything in green is what you do on your friends computer)
5: go into Multiplayer
6: click add server
7: in the box that says Server Address and put in the ip address (192.168.1.7:)
8: open up Minecraft (on your computer)
9: Start a world
10: press esc. on the keyboard
11: Click on Open to LAN
12: set what you want your friend to be on (creative, survival, adventure/ cheats on or off)
13: click on Start LAN world
14: read the 5 numbers the pop on the screen (to your friend)
15: put in the 5 numbers after the colon in the ip address and click on Done
16: click on Join Server
